What’s Included In Your Roofing Estimate

There are many steps involved in repairing or replacing your home’s roofing system. However, before the crew and the roofing materials show up in your driveway, an important step needs to take place first.

An estimate of your roofing project must be established and agreed upon by both the homeowner and the roofing contractor before any roofing work can start. The estimate determines the financial parameters of the project, project schedule, date of payment, materials to be used, and much more.

If you’re planning to start a new roofing project on your home and unsure what to look out for on your roofing estimate, carry on reading as we break it down for you.

Project Description

The roofing estimate should include a complete description of the roofing project. It details a step-by-step process of how the project is set to unfold, the design specifications, which parts of your roofing system are to be removed or installed, the materials to be used, etc.

Project Schedule

A set schedule for the roofing project must be determined and agreed upon by both the homeowner and the roofing company. This includes the commencement date when each step of the project will be completed and finally, the completion date.

Budget Allocation And Payment

This details how much your project is estimated to cost. It includes how your budget will be allocated, the payment structure of the project, if payments will be split up or if one total payment of the project will be made. It also establishes a date for when these payments need to be made.

Insurance And Licensing Information

This includes your insurance information and the insurance details of the roofing company you’re working with. It also consists of any licensing information and documentation of your roofing company.

Your insurance and the roofing company’s licensing information ensure that your roofing company is legally allowed to conduct roofing work on your home. Should anything go wrong, both parties are covered.

Warranties And Guarantees

If the roofing company offers any warranties and guarantees on the roofing project, it needs to be stated and detailed in the roofing estimate.

A Means For Exit

Should either of the parties have a reason to terminate the roofing project, there needs to be an established and agreed-upon termination clause that allows either party to walk away from the project without legal implications.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Whalen did a great job. Crew cleaned up every day, when they ran into anything unplanned (which was minimal) they were up front and gave us options. Love the work they did, will use them again 100%.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mike provided me with an thorough and detailed estimate for our roof, complete with drone shots. The crew worked efficiently in the 90+ degree weather over two days to replace my roof. Kenny was the project manager and was very helpful and informative in coordinating the job throughout the whole process. The crew did an excellent job in cleaning up during the job and afterwards. The overall company was very professional and easy to work with, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get a new roof. Whalen Exteriors is a class act in the roofing business!
